SUTRO was a high-end eyewear brand hailing from San Francisco. All Sutro Eyewear products were designed and developed in-house at their San Francisco location and hand made in Italy with original tooling, designs, colors, finishes, and parts ranging from our Patent Pending "Ratchet Hinge" featuring featuring Barberini's glass, anti reflective lenses, the worlds best. Sutro frames are made from Grilamid TR, the strongest, most resilient material available in eyewear. It is remarkably scratch and fracture- resistant. It withstands variable pressure with no sign of fatigue and is non-allergenic. Grilamid can be heat formed to custom tune the frame fit. Most reputable opticians will heat set custom adjustments to suit your unique fit at no charge or for a nominal fee.
Steve Allen was a believer of the project from the beginning and provided an online wholesale & retail outlet to process orders back in the beginnings of SutroVision. After a successful run of things, eventually the partners began developing their own things & have all gone their seperate ways, shuddering the business some time ago. Steve worked out purchasing all remaining inventory and is offering this high end eyewear to the general public until it is gone.

Sutro Vision Eyewear was featured on the TV shows, Sons of Anarchy, Pushing Daisies, and worn by band members of Mastodon, Social Distortion, and Johnny Marr of The Smiths. We even designed one specifically for James Hetfield of Metallica (long sold out but if you are lucky to own a pair, they fetch $$$$). Amy Winehouse even owned a few pairs when she played at a small club in San Francisco in April 2007.
