Gas Tank Badge - 860

The piece is quite malleable, so care is advised, lest it be bent out of shape and not lie against the tank properly. Fortunately, I found out that it is easily reshaped. The piece does require paint and polish. I primed the whole piece with etching primer. Then I polished the proud lettering with: Tripoli compound, then white compound, and finally Semichrome. Then I painstakingly masked the lettering, and painted the whole thing with VHT gloss chassis paint. After removing the masking and redefining the edges of the letters with a toothpick, I was quite pleased with the results. Only caveat is that the studs on back are a bit small, so I must shim.
