High performance WISECO forged 81mm piston with 20mm wrist pin, circlips and ring set. Suitable for 750cc bevel drive Ducati.
Jonathan White tells me that he used a 20mm wrist pin on his endurance racers back in the day and swears by them as doing so leaves more meat around the piston where it needs to be. He tells us that the stock 22mm wrist pin type pistons he ran would pull apart very quickly. Yes that means you will need to bush your connecting rods down to 20mm to use these pistons but you will be very happy you did so in the long run.
SOLD EACH - you need to order 2 for your Ducati bevel drive twin.
INSTALLATION: The arrow stamped into the top of the piston should point to the exhaust port. Please click HERE to download the Ring Gap Installation Guide from our "Install Guides & Instructions" section when you order your pistons.
A note on bushing material from Jonathan - Easiest to purchase 660 bronze from a bearing house in tubular spec. The stuff I have in house is nom. 5/8 bore & 1.25" o.d. available from common sources in 11" lengths. Bore the I.D. to zero fit on the 20mm pin & the O.D. can be a .0012" - .0015" interference in the rod. Then deburr both inside & out before installing in rod, then ream the inside after drilling the oil holes to achieve an internal fit of .0002" on the pin. (Have a 20mm reamer ready to accomplish this). Then everything will slide together naturally & the bush will stay put.
